Happy Earth Day

Cardigan; Mama's Closet
Clutch; Old Navy - $2.75
Skirt; HK - 40 HKD
Shoes; DD's Discount - $10
Tank; Forever21 - $4.60

Today I went to watch the Kite Runner play, and I actually teared. I was thrown completely off guard by the whole performance, I heard lots of praise for the book, but I never realized how intense it was. I was very proud my hometown played a nice role in the movie.

Hope Station

Yesterday I went to a local thrift store with my friend Vivian. There wasn't anything that really caught my attention; but I ended up buying deux things, so not too bad. I bought a belt, and a vintage sunflower dress! I tried taking pictures while I was in the fitting room, but my memory chip was "locked", I have no idea how I'm suppose to unlock it, but at the same I haven't tried, so yeah wish me luck on that! The grand total of my thrifting was $4. Haha, I'll probably be reselling the dress though.

Anyways, I found two great sites for people with low budgets but wish to continue shopping!
-Bigwardrobe; a website where you can sell or swap your own items! Although it is mainly based in the UK, there are tons of worldwide users and great steals on there. Even Michelle Obama is on it!
-Penniless Kid Vintage; It's a blog, it's pretty nifty they show you alternatives for certain "in-styles" that they're selling. I think their sells are based off etsy.

Anyone still shop at Old Navy? I haven't been there in awhile ever since they relocated to a further location, but anyways I found some really cool ways you can get a discount.
Well first click here then it's like a little scavenger hunt, but luckily I have all the answers! Unless you'd like to try it out yourself, if not just presume reading!

1. Press all of the names on the bottom (for voting for the nicest mannequin legs!) then all the names should turn blue, then a kite should start flying behind the girls click it! Then you get a 50% off one item coupon.
2. Move the hamburger from the black boy's hand and then into the white man's on the far left. (This seems a bit racist..) Then pops out a $25 off $50 coupon.
3. Click on the food on the grill then a subtle set of steam comes off on the food, click that and you get a %40 off one item coupon.
4. A frisbee should appear click it and you get a %20 off one item coupon.

:D ta-da; well I'm out.

-$3 Top

top:styles for less/jacket:forever21
At first I wasn't sure if I was into these kinds of patterns, especially since I've been seeing them everywhere. But with nothing else to wear I resorted to this. Miraculously I've gotten a few compliments on it. With every comment I received, I responded proudly "It was only $3 bucks!". Despite the lack of organization 'Styles For Less' is actually filled with deals! Just be sure to check their sales rack no matter how messy they seem, they always have nice stuff. I've just happened to found this there. The back is like a raceback style but instead of just having the straps meet there it braids on down. If you want a photo of it let me know! If you don't like racerbacks in general I've seen a few V-necks like this at Anchor Blue for $5. I've also seen the baggy styled shirts with this pattern at forever21.

First Post

Bonjour! Welcome to my fashion blog, or my weak attempt at creating one. I guess I should start by explaining myself, even though I don't owe any of you anything, I'll explain myself as a treat for your taking your own time and reading this piece of crapito.

Who am I?
My name is Joyce, and I'm just an average teenager. Currently I'm fourteen going on fifteen.. My mama is Chinese, and my dad is Laotian. Making me half of both. I speak Cantonese, English, and I'm on my way to being somewhat fluent in French. I live in America, Bay Area California to be precise. I'm loyal, honest, and way beyond outspoken. This blog is a piece of my mind. So the best way to get to know me? Rhetorical question, the answer's in it.
Why did you decide to make a fashion blog?
& What's with the name?

I don't even know if this can qualify as a 'fashion blog', but that's the point, I just don't care what you think! I'm a broke, unemployed teenager, and I'm pretty damn sure I'm not the only one.. Hah, this is just a way of expressing the way I spend my money, and what I think of whatever is going on. I might not be able to afford fancy name brands, but that doesn't mean I won't be able to be broke in style. A Monster's Mannequin? Okay well the name is more of a metaphor, for those of you that didn't quite get the concept. First of all I don't even own a mannequin, as a matter of fact I don't even have room for it in my maison. Actually, I don't even have my own room. But when I get it you can expect me to decorate it magnificently, and expect a post on it (if you decide to become a reader). And second, I'm not a monster, but to a few of you the way I dress can be preposterous or horrendous, or just plain out hideous.. but that's okay because I'm wearing it, and not you. You just get the enjoyment of reading it. So stick around, if you want.
What makes my blog different from everyone else?
To be honest, they're all pretty redundant and my specialty happens to be in difference. So there's a few bloggers who states they like getting bargain buys, who doesn't? But a majority of them will tell you they that they've caught a few good steals from a few thrift stores. But then the next day they'll be telling you they just bought the newest Louis Vuitton bag! You don't have to worry about that with me, I'm staying broke, I promise. I will also try my best not to taunt you with couture that me and you both will never be able to have.

although I always complain about reality, this is the one place I'm actually going to face it;
WELCOME TO THE MEDIOCRE
